The Star Wars Rebel Alliance logo was incorporated into the actual hinge of this wind driven Eagle Sculpture Model. After getting to near completion on engineering, the brutal realization that the shape of the logo in the hinges was completely distracting from the wing shape and the sleek feel that I was going for in the original drawings. In fact, the effect was somewhat centipede-like. Initial attempts at a more eagle like head and tail were also all wrong.

Which was kind of devastating after all the hours put in to get where I was. Panic attacks were avoided when I changed direction to be less bird like and take influence from an X-wing fighter from Star Wars (the deceased was a major fan). So now we have a nose cone and fuselage instead of a head and tail. Wings are now to be a dirty white/grey (hopefully) aluminum instead of cedar. If the client likes the idea, I also want to pre-distress the surfaces so it looks like an X-wing that has seen some service.
