This Octopus Turtle ring box was commissioned through the Custom Made website so I don’t know the story behind this but a netsuke was the reference. A “netsuke” you say? Yes, a wooden bobble that was used to secure a rope around a Japanese man’s belt during the old days. Super rich imagery for them at Google but some of them are NSFW.
Now, I am no @Bob Dorsey or @Craig Worrell , but I definitely had to sharpen up my drawing skills for these.
The execution of the project is going to be out of cherry and promises to be interesting and fun. Stay tuned.
